Lazuli bunting, in our backyard taken from my kitchen window!

American Goldfinch. Male, fully dressed in his best yellow plumage for attracting the girls!

This Golden Eagle is part of a raptor rehabilitation program.

I think this guy is beautiful! The best I can do with identification (because I just look at pictures and guess...) is that this dragonfly is a mature male Variegated Meadowhawk.

So who's the new guy?

Smooth and soft texture with many feathers obviously linear and lying stacked on one another. Ok, that might be a stretch for comparing it to the bricks and bushes photo, but I love this photo so I had to include it! I took this in the nearby mountains at a restaurant's hummingbird feeder.

Another Bandwinged Meadowhawk (love those names!), I think. My identifications are just a bit of a guess--I have never done dragonflies before.

Now, tell me truthfully...are all these the same color?

My friend Agnes graciously played the piano over and over while I experimented on trying to get the right combination of sharp photo with slightly blurred hands (from the motion of playing). She said it was fun! Thanks, Agnes! This is one photo that I think works so much better in b&w than it did in color.

Reflecting Back: 1971.
This is my first 'real' camera and a vintage box of film from 1971 also. Bought the film on eBay just to be authentic... Oh, and I am still a Canon loyalist.

Just a bit of a bike...

This is my out-of-state photo for fall. It's up a canyon outside of Salt Lake City. I got to admit, some of Utah's fall colors really rival those of Colorado!

This aspen forest shot is from a beautiful hike in August near Crested Butte, Colorado. Not quite Ansel Adams yet!

A nice night of fishing at Red Feather Lakes. I don't think Ward got much that night but it sure was pretty.

Sharp-shinned Hawk.

This is my friend Susan's and her husband Scott's honeybee. They are beekeepers and have a beautiful garden for all their bees to enjoy!

A Monarch butterfly, I think...

Fluffed and dried! Yellow-rumped Warbler. This little guy kept flying out from his rock over the water and catching insects. But sometimes (accidental or on purpose, I don't know) he would hit the water and come back all wet. He would sit there for a while and do it all over again. Didn't seem to mind that I was on a rock not too far away...

A frosty morning and what's left of our flowering crabapple trees... That is our Colorado blue sky, by the way!
